Number line

Number lines stretch from negative to positive infinity, helping us visualize numbers and their relationships. 📏They show us how numbers connect, making it easier to understand concepts like addition, subtraction, and even decimals.

Number lines are everywhere in real life. Imagine you're standing on a street with houses numbered from -5 to 5. Your friend lives at number 3, and you live at number -2. To get to your place, you'd move backwards (left on the number line) from 3 to -2. That's like subtracting! Real-life examples: Temperatures: Think of a thermometer. It goes from negative (cold!) to positive (hot!). 0°C is like the middle point. Money:If you've got $5 and spend $3, you're at +2 on the number line. If you owe someone $2, you're at -2. Elevators: Floors below ground are negative (-1, -2...), ground floor is 0, and above are positives. Time:Before a launch (T-10 minutes), we're counting down (negative). Launch is T0, then post-launch is T+1, T+2... Number lines help us visualize these ups and downs, making math more relatable!
