Professional Development: Person-Centered Thinking and Planning

Be guided through the introductory core concepts that led to person-centered thinking and planning being implemented within social, developmental and health systems across Canada. Are you up to date on the best practices in these two concepts?

This session is an introduction to person-centered thinking and person-centered planning OR a coaching call to ensure that your service delivery method is aligned with the principles of being person-centered in your social services, healthcare, or developmental services profession. You are the one person that your client sees the most often in their life; are you living up to the standard that it takes to be a true advocate and ally or are you causing harm which ultimately leads to professional burnout? We will go over the history, and how it came to be accepted within certain professions and sectors, but why it's so hard to implement in certain systems. We won't be able to get through everything but if you've never taken training of this kind, or you are wondering if your approach is up to date then this is the session for you!
