I always dreamed of starting my own business. But for years, I found myself sitting on my sofa after work, wondering if I was destined to keep building someone else’s vision instead of my own. If you’ve ever felt that same pull, the desire for freedom but the fear of leaving security, you’re not alone. I craved freedom — the freedom to choose how I spent my time, to do work that truly mattered, and to live life on my own terms. Yet it felt safer to stay where I was, in the 9 to 5, following someone else’s rules. Over the years, I worked in both family-run companies and large organizations across the Middle East, Europe, and the UK. In family-run businesses, I often witnessed painful confrontations, miscommunication, a lack of governance, and poor team culture—issues that are especially common in Middle Eastern family enterprises. In contrast, corporate environments in Europe and the UK seemed more structured: with governance, systems, and team dynamics in place. Yet beneath the polished surface, I saw something else: people who were unfulfilled, disconnected from their work, and not living up to their potential. At times, that included me. These experiences made me realise: Success is not just about doing more or knowing more, it is about inner alignment, clarity, and having the right environment and support around you. Finding that alignment wasn’t a quick fix. I spent a lot of time learning, unlearning, and surrounding myself with people who challenged me to grow.
