My name is Ilani Venter and I am a fully qualified, highly committed, and enthusiastic teacher with ten years of teaching experience in South Africa, as well as abroad, Al Buraimi in the Sultanate of Oman. There I worked with students ranging in age from Grade 5 to High School. My current position is at an Afrikaans Primary School using CAPS as curriculum in South Africa where I am an English Teacher for Grade 5 and Grade 7 students. I have always been passionate about education and sport, and I am a very organized, diligent, and creative person by nature. I put a lot of effort into my work and take pride in the progress of my students and myself. Throughout my teaching career I have gained skills and knowledge that contribute to me as a teacher, where I can cater to a diverse range of learners and play a crucial role in a fast-paced teaching environment. I strive to be a worker with initiative, respect for my working environment and fellow workers. I place high value on loyalty, integrity and working relationships. My interest in music and sport contributes to me working with children and I am able to contribute to more areas than only the teaching aspect of my degree. During the facilitation of their learning, I promote critical thinking and enable students to see themselves as part of a global society. I believe an effective teacher must provide and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment to facilitate the targeted subject and promote individual student growth, whereas each learner needs to believe in his/her capabilities. Teaching is my passion.
