With over 15 years of hands-on instrumental experience and a deep foundation in music theory, I bring both passion and expertise to my role as a music tutor. I began playing guitar and saxophone in 4th grade, quickly expanding my repertoire to include piano, bass, drums, oboe, ukulele, and flute. My background in saxophone spans elementary through high school, continuing through college, where I also studied advanced music theory and jazz theory. This extensive experience allows me to teach a wide range of instruments and styles with a comprehensive understanding of technique, theory, and improvisation. Beyond performance, I have a 7-year professional background in the music industry, working at record labels, publishing companies, and management firms. My work in A&R, identifying and developing talent, has refined my ability to coach musicians in both technical skill and artistic growth. I am skilled at breaking down complex musical concepts for learners of all levels, from beginners building fundamentals to advanced students looking to expand their theoretical knowledge or creative abilities. As a tutor, I focus on fostering each student’s unique musical voice, helping them build confidence in their skills while mastering their chosen instrument(s). My goal is to create a supportive, engaging learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your skills, I’m excited to help you reach your musical goals.
