A late start into learning the piano at age 13 I was aware I had a lot to catch up on. Within 2 years of playing I had completed my grade 5 and 2 years later my grade 8. I threw myself into auditions for music college and accepted the invitation to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on part scholarship. During my time I entered various competitions of which I was selected as finalist and winner. Attending and performing in regular masterclasses for such pianists as renowned as Peter Donohoe my musicianship skills were greatly improved holding many concerts throughout my time. I have been teaching piano for over a decade with a 100% success rate in ABRSM exams. Many of my students have also won national and school competitions across the country. I tailor lessons to each individual, whether you're looking to build solid technique, explore interpretation, or learn specific pieces you love. My teaching approach is structured yet flexible, ensuring steady progress while keeping lessons enjoyable. I focus on developing an effortless technique, strengthening sight-reading skills, and refining tone production through targeted exercises, including Czerny and other essential studies. I also help students build effective memorisation techniques, enabling them to learn pieces with greater depth and understanding. If you're preparing for concerts, exams, or competitions, I can help you gain confidence and overcome performance anxiety, ensuring you deliver masterful performances.
